Louis Psihoyos, whose film The Cove on slaying the
dolphins won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, directed Racing Extinction on the global challenge of endangered species. He ran a campaign to solicit viewers to protect the Endangered Species Act. The following year (2016) more endangered species were recovering than in any year since ESA Became law in 1966. The Trump 2019 “extinction plan” dramatically weakens the Endangered Species Act, violating the spirit and purpose of the law. Now we need renewed action for impact, which this film can inspire.
